Associates are eligible to apply for a lateral transfer after completion of one (1) year of service in their present position, with the following exception: an Associate who has received a written warning is not eligible for a transfer/promotion prior to six (6) months from date of issuance; an Associate who has been suspended is not eligible for transfer/promotion prior to one (1) year from date of suspension. Part-time Associates who have completed their probationary period can move to full-time vacancies within their department provided such movement will not unreasonably reduce the operational efficiency of that department. Probationary period is three (3) months for full-time employees, and four (4) months for part-time employees who works more than 3/5 of the normal workweek. Probationary period will not apply to shift changes.

The practice of a Surgical Physician Assistant shall include medical services within the education, training and experience of the PA that are delegated by the supervising physician.

Medical services rendered by physician assistants may include, but are not limited to, obtaining patient histories, and performing physical examinations; ordering and/or performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; formulating a diagnosis; developing and implementing a treatment plan; monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions; assisting at surgery; offering counseling and education to meet patient needs; making appropriate referrals. 

The activities listed above may be performed in any setting authorized by the supervising physician, including but not limited to, clinics, hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, patient homes, nursing homes and other institution settings

This position requires traveling to Weiler campus, Hutch campus and occasional Moses

The Shift for this position is 6:30am - 5pm. 4 shift per week. Rotating weekdays

Requirements

Graduation from Accredited Physician Assistant

Current NCCPA Board Certification (National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants)

Current New York State License

Current DEA License

Current BLS and ACLS Certification

Current Infection Control Certification
