Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Director of Emergency, Observation, and Trauma Services to lead and oversee patient care operations across multiple emergency and observation departments. In this role, you will be responsible for strategic planning, administrative leadership, and operational excellence, ensuring high-quality care and regulatory compliance across emergency, observation, and trauma services.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee emergency and observation operations, ensuring financial efficiency, patient safety, and high-quality care.

Develop and implement strategies for optimal resource and financial management, aligning with organizational goals.

Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, including Joint Commission, Department of Health, and the American College of Surgeons.

Lead patient care teams, fostering an environment that supports evidence-based and patient-centered nursing care.

Act as a subject matter expert in emergency services, observation, and trauma care.

Provide fiscal leadership, managing operating and capital budgets while identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Monitor performance metrics, assess operational effectiveness, and implement necessary improvements.

Support the recruitment, retention, and professional development of nursing staff, collaborating with Human Resources to maintain a strong workforce.

Participate in the planning and execution of facility renovations or new construction projects related to patient care.

Serve as a mentor and role model, ensuring a culturally competent and inclusive workplace environment.

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or a BSN with a Master's degree in Business Administration.

Professional certification related to the position.

At least five years of progressive nursing leadership experience with previous management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Doctorate degree in Nursing.

Certification in Healthcare Performance Improvement.

Experience at the director level or higher with a background in operational leadership.
