Job Summary:

Provides assistance to the home buyer in selecting interior and exterior options to enhance the personalization of the home building process.

Hourly Rate: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime pay for all hours worked in a workweek over 40.

This position is eligible for a quarterly bonus at the discretion of management, based upon considerations that include the division’s and candidate’s overall performance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitates the following:

    • Previews – Presents new home buyers with a tour and presentation of Included Features and Optional Upgrades prior to design appointment.
    • Design Appointments – Coordinates and finalizes all color selections required for the home building process and achieve set deadlines.
  • Provides assistance and product knowledge to home buyers during potential previews and design appointments.

  • Prepares and reviews initial Color Selection Sheets; prepares Change Orders as required; verifies accuracy of information and pricing prior to submitting to Program Manager.

  • Executes exterior monotony rule. 

  • Coordinates selections for inventory homes and submit Selection Sheets by set deadline to ensure building process is not delayed.

  • Provides product feedback to Design Studio Manager to ensure the latest trends.

  • Ensure samples are maintained to allow for an organized and functional workspace.

  • Performs a variety of administrative duties as assigned, which include, but not limited to, data entry, file organization, and Envision updates.

  • Troubleshoots and resolves customer construction issues related to design selections.

  • Assists with day-to-day operations in the absence of the Design Studio Manager.

  • Assists with special projects as requested and performs additional duties as required.

  • This position is a full-time, on-site position, providing the opportunity for direct collaboration and engagement within a dynamic work environment.

Requirements

Minimum Education Experience: 

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) with at least one year of relevant course study including seminars and workshop combined with a minimum of one year of related experience and/or training; general knowledge of home building industry relative to designs and color coordination.

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Possesses strong customer service skills, excelling in collaborative environments and effectively engaging with diverse individuals both within and outside the organization.

  • Strong verbal and written communication, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail.

  • Design background preferred with general knowledge of blueprint and plot map reading to assist in the selection process. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel.
