  • We are hiring immediately for a SAFETY COORDINATOR  position.
  • Location : Nike, 5151 Shelby Drive, Memphis, TN 38118. Note: online applications accepted only .
  • Schedule : Full Time; Monday through Friday 6am-4pm with some evenings and weekends as needed to offer training to the evening teams. 
  • Details : The Nike portfolio consists of 7 locations in the Mid South to include the Memphis, TN and Byhalia, MS locations. We have a team of 200 associates serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner to over 6000 Nike athletes 7 days a week. The key responsibilities of the Safety Coordinator include:
    • Promotes, enforces, maintains, and verifies Quality Assurance (QA) and safety reporting standards
    • Provides written feedback to unit managers and chefs regarding non-compliance observations
    • Works with managers to find solutions to QA challenges and crisis
    • Liaises with clients, senior management, unit managers, and chefs on all QA issues
    • Participates in all BOH inspections and all external Audits
    • Trains associates on all QA policies and procedures and maintain accurate records
  • Requirement : ServSafe Manager Certification is required in the first 30 days. We are looking for a candidate with a background in food safety management and who believes in consistent training and accountability.
  • Salary : $58,000

Job Summary

Summary: As a Safety Coordinator, you will work directly with Safety Managers and ensure the team is in compliance with operational needs, support business critical matters, and assure regulatory compliance (i.e., OSHA, EPA) within assigned geographies.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Supports efforts of company operations to assure continued attention to safety success. 
  • Develops and implements new corporate safety policies and procedures. 
  • Ensures presentation and serving temperatures follow the HACCP standard. 
  • Provides information related to safety and workers compensation to all levels of management. 
  • Identifies programs and tools to positively impact safety. 
  • Investigates accidents as needed. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Food and/or safety experience is preferred.
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
  • Supervisory, leadership, management and coaching skills are preferred.
  • Excellent problem solving, creativity, and training skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
  • Bachelor's degree in food service, safety, nutrition or related field is preferred.
