Pay Rate: $80 to $82/Hourly (Travel Rates also available)
Department: Radiation Oncology
Shift: Monday – Friday, Day Shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
Shifts per Week: 5
Hours per Shift: 8

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Radiation Therapist to join our oncology team in Syracuse, NY. This professional will be responsible for delivering high-quality radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by physicians and in accordance with National Cancer Institute (NCI) regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating advanced radiotherapy equipment and providing compassionate patient care in a clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients based on physician orders
• Operate and maintain a variety of radiotherapy equipment (e.g., Linear Accelerators, Co-60, Simulators)
• Coordinate and schedule patient appointments efficiently
• Prepare and use simulation equipment for tumor localization and treatment planning
• Interpret prescriptions and ensure accurate delivery of radiation dosages
• Perform radiographic imaging for verification of treatment volumes and positions
• Recognize and respond to radiation reactions; provide appropriate patient education and care
• Ensure adherence to departmental safety protocols and regulatory guidelines
• Maintain accurate treatment records, documentation, and patient photographs
• Participate in ongoing training, in-service education, and departmental quality initiatives

Qualifications:

• Associate’s Degree in Applied Science (AAS) or graduate of an AMA-accredited Radiation Therapy program
• Active New York State (NYS) Radiation Therapist License
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required
• Minimum of 3–5 years of recent, relevant experience in a radiation therapy setting
• Strong understanding of high-voltage radiation equipment and safety standards
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary oncology team
• Must pass pre-employment health clearance
