Description of the role: The General Manager of the Salem VA Hotel will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of hotel operations, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction, profitability, and employee engagement. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve hotel's financial and operational goals
  • Ensure all departments are running smoothly and efficiently
  • Oversee and manage the hotel staff, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and resolve any guest issues or complaints
  • Monitor and control hotel expenses and revenue
  • Create and manage budgets
  • Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to drive bookings and revenue
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations
  • Stay updated with industry trends and implement best practices
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in hotel management or a similar role
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills

Overseeing all daily hotel operations to guarantee that guests enjoy an outstanding experience, the candidate is responsible for all hotel services, such as franchise and brand compliance, engaging staff, vendors and stakeholders, building and maintaining relationships customers, staff, vendors and stakeholders, all job tasks within the operations of the hotel including but not limited to front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, budgeting, revenue management, team building, and employee development. This position encourages candidates that can demonstrate dynamic problem solving, to monitor economic trends, and to develop marketing strategies in promotion of the hotel services. A successful candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in hotel management or business management as a plus; equivalent experience is also acceptable.
