Job Title: Executive Producer - WSB TV

Position Overview

We are in search of an Executive Producer at WSB TV Atlanta who can lead our talented producers and writers to create memorable newscasts that match the needs of our audiences. 
The successful candidate must have in-depth understanding of newscast execution. They must be able to understand research and newscast goals and then coach and collaborate with producers to consistently hit those goals. 

The EP selected for this position will be a newsroom leader and able to make solid decisions and help lead execution of all multiplatform coverage plans. They must be able to execute and own breaking news and weather coverage during newscasts and during extended coverage

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead a team to craft relevant, important, and memorable newscasts.
• Have in-depth understanding of graphic capabilities and effectively onboard and coach producers to execute with high production value.
• Demonstrate editorial leadership by collaborating with other newsroom leaders and have in-depth understanding of all station content.
• Ensure producers meet daily expectations and hit all newscast goals.
• Hire producers and writers and create curriculum for onboarding and continuing education of staff.
• Copy edit all opens, stories, and teases. 
• Understand and effectively use all station platforms. 
• Create and consistently follow accountability systems for producers.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years professional experience in local TV News.
• Prior news management experience.
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or University in Journalism or Communications. 
• Solid understanding of newsroom operations and newscast execution.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
• Must be thoroughly professional in all aspects of journalism.
