Who We Are

At Kyndryl, we design, build, manage and modernize the mission-critical technology systems that the world depends on every day. So why work at Kyndryl? We are always moving forward – always pushing ourselves to go further in our efforts to build a more equitable, inclusive world for our employees, our customers and our communities.

The Role

The healthcare market is rapidly changing, and Kyndryl is looking for practitioners who are passionate about helping some of the world’s biggest healthcare organizations with their journey to the cloud. Spun off from IBM in November 2021, Kyndryl instantly became the largest infrastructure services provider globally, with many Fortune 500 companies already among its clients. But we don’t want to be JUST an infrastructure services provider. We aim to find innovative ways to do more for our clients. As we continue expanding our consulting ranks in cloud computing, software development, and data, healthcare remains one of our key areas of focus.

We are seeking a driven and highly skilled Epic Cloud Architect (ECSA - Epic Certified Cloud Architect ) with strong Epic technical experience and cloud expertise to join Kyndryl’s team. In this role, you will support healthcare providers and payers in their transition from on-premise environments to public and private cloud solutions. You will serve as a subject matter expert and lead initiatives for the migration and optimization of Epic systems in the cloud.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Design & Implementation:

  • Architect and design cloud solutions for Epic applications (EHR, Epic Cogito, MyChart, etc.) ensuring high performance, scalability, and security.

  • Lead the migration of Epic systems and applications to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), optimizing infrastructure for cloud-native environments.

  • Collaborate with Epic EHR specialists and IT teams to align cloud architecture with Epic’s technical and business requirements.

  • Provide consulting services to clients, offering guidance on how to transition from on-prem solutions to cloud-based Epic systems.

Cloud Infrastructure Management:

  • Oversee cloud infrastructure for Epic systems, ensuring high availability, disaster recovery, and performance.

  • Utilize cloud-native technologies (containers, Kubernetes) and manage services like load balancing (e.g., Citrix NetScaler, Big IP F5) and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions.

  • Continuously monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud environments for cost efficiency and performance.

Security & Compliance:

  • Implement cloud security measures to protect patient data and ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare regulations.

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability analysis to maintain a secure, compliant cloud infrastructure.

Collaboration & Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor teams of cloud engineers, ensuring best practices are followed in cloud deployment and support of Epic systems.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Epic with other healthcare applications and systems in the cloud.

  • Create technical documentation and diagrams for cloud-based Epic solutions (e.g., Visio, draw.io).

Innovation & Optimization:

  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, cloud technologies, and Epic solutions to drive innovation in cloud architecture for healthcare.

  • Leverage cloud capabilities to innovate and improve workflows, automate processes, and optimize cloud infrastructures for healthcare clients.

Kyndryl currently does not require employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, however, if you are hired to work at a client, customer, or partner location, you may be required to show proof of  vaccination to align with their respective COVID-19  vaccination policies.  Those who believe they are eligible may apply for a medical or religious accommodation prior to the start of employment.

Who You Are

You’re good at what you do and possess the required experience to prove it. However, equally as important – you have a growth mindset; keen to drive your own personal and professional development. You are customer-focused – someone who prioritizes customer success in their work. And finally, you’re open and borderless – naturally inclusive in how you work with others.

Required Skills and Experience

Minimum 5+ years of experience with:

  • Public Cloud Certification/Experience (AWS, Azure, etc.).

  • Epic ECSA/ECSM Certification.

  • Deep understanding of Epic systems and supporting infrastructure components, such as ODB, Hyperspace, MyChart, CareEverywhere, Kuiper, etc.

  • Expertise with Microsoft Windows server administration, DNS, Active Directory, and Group Policy.

  • Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops/DaaS, Omnissa Horizon, and/or Azure Virtual Desktop.

  • Knowledge of load-balancing technologies (e.g., Citrix NetScaler, Big IP F5).

  • Experience leading Epic technical implementations and providing cloud-based solutions.

  • Experience creating technical documentation, system diagrams, and integration with third-party software applications.

  • Strong knowledge of network protocols and healthcare IT operations.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Over 10 years of experience with Epic, especially in Epic client-server administration.

  • Proven success in multiple project implementations and a history of delivering cloud-based Epic solutions.

  • Strong ability to present project ideas, solutions, and results to clients and stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, computer science, or a related field.

  • Proficiency with MS Office tools (Visio, Project, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and SharePoint.

  • Experience with Unix server administration and Epic ODBA certification.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.

  • Opportunities for professional growth and development.

  • A dynamic and inclusive work environment.

  • The chance to work with a leading global IT services company.
