Position Overview

WFOX TV Jacksonville is looking for a morning news anchor who will work in a newsroom that emphasizes breaking news, daily investigative reporting and severe weather coverage. The Anchor is responsible for anchoring newscasts, live anchoring in the field and reporting news stories.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist in writing, pre-production and broadcast preparation; making certain stories are clear/accurate and represent the station’s benchmark goals.
Deliver news copy on camera in a credible and professional manner, as scheduled or needed
Contribute daily to all station digital platforms and initiatives, including social media.

Use creativity and imagination, and exercise independent professional judgment in investigating, reporting, interviewing, writing, editing and delivering news stories and assigned events
Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance
Attend and participate in editorial meetings, as scheduled
Contribute to story ideas
Professionally represent station at promotions and community affair events

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum education of a Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field
Minimum of 5 years reporting/anchoring
Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record
